ADMISSION RULES AND PROCEDURE

To initiate the application process, please follow these steps:
  1. Visit the Sujnan PU College office to obtain the Application Form, and if desired, the Prospectus (optional).
  2. Parents seeking admission for their children are required to submit the following documents:
    • Original Marks Card/ Provisional Marks Card (signed by the school Headmaster) from the previous school, along with one attested copy. For ICSE, CBSE, NRI, and Foreign students, the original and two attested copies are required.
    • Transfer Certificates from the previous school. Students from districts other than UDUPI should have this certificate countersigned by the Block Education Officer (BEO) of their respective region. For students from outside Karnataka State, the certificate should be countersigned by the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI).
    • Conduct Certificate from the previous school.
    • Passport-sized color photographs (10) with a white background, with the student’s name printed on each.
    • An attested copy of the Caste Certificate (only applicable to SC/ST/Cat 1/2A/2B/3A/3B candidates applying under reservations).
    • Eligibility Certificate (to be obtained from the Pre-University Board) – this is mandatory for NRI, Foreign, and IGCSE students.

Important Note:
Students are advised to keep sufficient attested copies of the original documents submitted to the college during the admission process, as the originals will not be returned until admission is approved or upon course completion. Candidates are responsible for all expenses related to the admission procedure.

Admission for Foreign Nationals
In addition to the above requirements, foreign nationals must fulfill the following conditions:

• Meet eligibility criteria specified by the Director of Pre-University Education Board, Bengaluru.
• Obtain a No Objection Certificate from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (Department of Education), Government of India.
• Hold a valid Passport and Student Visa for the duration of study at the institution.
• Provide an HIV Test Certificate as part of the admission requirements.

Admission Rules & Guidelines:
  1.  Authorization: The application for admission should be signed by either the father or mother. In the event of parental absence (due to death), legal guardians are permitted to sign the application. It is imperative that all required certificates and documentation be submitted during the admission process.
  2. Non-Refundable Fees: Please be aware that once fees are paid, they are non-refundable under any circumstances. This policy remains in effect should a student be withdrawn from the college or hostel, or in cases of expulsion.
  3. Admission Restrictions: Admission may not be sanctioned under the following circumstances:
    • Taking students to distant locations for medical treatment.
    • Requesting leave for festivals, celebrations, tours, or other examinations.
    • Seeking permission to attend marriage functions of relatives, except in cases of the ward’s own brother’s or sister’s marriage.
    • Students facing severe physical or mental illnesses such as chronic diseases, heart conditions, epilepsy, bed-wetting, stealing, depression, and the like.
  4. Health Information: When seeking admission to the hostel, students are kindly requested to provide the following information to the warden or deputy warden:
    • Details of any previous serious medical treatment.
    • Specific requirements for special attention or ongoing treatment.
    • Information regarding eyesight and hearing problems.
    Additionally, documents related to previous medical treatments should be submitted to either the warden or the college office.
  5. Hostel Admission Duration: Admission to the hostel is granted on an annual basis. The renewal of admission for the subsequent year is contingent upon the character and conduct of the student in the previous academic year.
